Donor Privacy Policy
SparkYouth NYC respects the privacy of each individual who contacts us. We are grateful for your support and the crucial roles you play in helping us continue our valuable work. As part of our commitment to safeguarding your privacy we have adopted the online privacy policy outlined below.
Collection of Information
We collect two kinds of information, general usage data, which is not individually identifiable, and individually identifiable information.
General Usage Data
Our Web server automatically collects information about visitors to the Site, such as the number of visitors, what pages they access, and the length of their visit. We also may collect certain non-personally identifiable information when you visit the site or fill out forms such as the type of browser you are using (e.g., Internet Explorer, Firefox) and the type of operating system you are using, (e.g., Windows Vista, Mac OS). This information is used in aggregate form in order to manage our websites and improve its content.
Individually Identifiable Information
We collect individually identifiable information about you when you choose to share information about yourself, for example, when you make a donation, request information or join our mailing list. This information may include names, mailing addresses, e-mail addresses, and phone numbers.
Use of Information
The personal information provided is solely utilized to process and receipt your donation, to register your attendance at an event or meeting, or to respond to any information requests you may have. All personal information provided to us is stored in databases located on servers which are behind firewalls. We also use a credit card processing company to process donations and monthly fees. This company does not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes.
We do not share personal information with third parties, and make every effort to preserve donor privacy. We may need, however, to disclose personal information when required by law wherein we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order or legal process served on our organization.
E-mail Communications
We occasionally send out an e-mail newsletter, invitations to our annual fundraiser, and direct email communications to our constituents to highlight news and information from SparkYouth NYC. You can elect not to receive communications from us by noting your preference in response to communications from us.
In addition, e-newsletters and direct email communications have easy-to-follow unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of each e-mail piece which automatically removes the e-mail from our mailing list.
Links to Other Sites
Our Site provides links to other websites where you can find out more about our sponsors or member organizations. Please note that SparkYouth is not responsible for the information practices of linked sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of each site you visit.
Children Online
We do not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13. We encourage parents and legal guardians to monitor their children’s Internet usage and to help enforce our Privacy Policy by instructing their children to never provide information on this Site without their permission.
